Everyone is now always on their mobile, especially since we are stuck at home due to corona. This might be your chance to start the blog you always wanted. You make consider reading How to Create a Perfect Blog Plan before you start writing a blog.

The best way to express your thoughts in this day and age of the internet, without judgment and unnecessary hate is blogging. Writing a blog opens up the world to you. You can write about anything and everything, someone will read it, and someone like-minded will enjoy it. Writing a blog also takes less time and is easier compared to say making and editing a YouTube video. It is also the best way to get our writing and creative juices flowing.

Writing a blog in 2020 is easy. You can create your blog for free or for little money from websites like WordPress. Just create your blog, and you can start writing. It also helps your blog if you follow some simple steps to make the best of your blog. I’ve mentioned some simple steps to write a blog in 2020.

Step 1: Choose a unique topic

When you decide to express your creativity or express your thoughts, pick a particular topic. Think about what you are going to write and try to think of a catchy title.

If the title immediately captures your attention, more people are likely to click on it. If it’s your very first blog, choose a topic you have expertise in or have experience in.

Step 2: Get started

The next step is to choose where to write the blog, select your domain name, and design your blog. This changes from website to website. Plan how you want your blog to look.

Step 3: Create content

This is the most crucial step. Write, rewrite, and revise. Take your time to plan what you write. Make multiple drafts.
I’ll list some tips to make the content better and more accessible to readers:

1. Make it User friendly

It is imperative to make your blog user friendly.  Anyone will read the blog that is easy to navigate and easy to read and understand the content. Do not get overwhelmed by all the choices available to design a blog.

Start simple and keep a goal. Where do you want your reader to go after reading the article? Think about the sites you hyperlink. Suggest additional reading relating to your content. Increase the font size; make the blog easy to read. Think about where you place advertisements, pop-ups, links, etc. Make sure your theme goes well with your content. Keep it engaging!

2. Ensure that it is SEO optimized.

SEO stands for search engine optimization. It means using some keywords or making small changes in your blog to increase the blog’s visibility on the internet. If you optimize your blog, you will get more organic traffic to your blog through search engine results. With SEO, you can make changes that will help your website be the top results in a search engine’s search results. Search engines always look to provide the best answers for a result. Let’s say you’re writing a blog about “writing a blog,” with SEO; you can make sure your blog is the result when someone searches “writing blog” or “how to write a blog.” You may or may not use SEO services for optimization but read about it and make the changes required for both on-site SEO optimization and off-site optimization.

3. Use easy words to connect with your audience better.

A great book is not one with complex words but a book with great content and simple words. Using easy language is a must. Easy language leads to more people reading it. You have to keep your blog simple so that people from all walks of life can understand what you are trying to convey.

4. Write original and unique content.

The content in your blog should never be plagiarized. Originality is the key. You can be inspired by something, but that doesn’t mean you copy it word to word. Plagiarized content also affects your SEO and search results ranking. When you are quoting someone, make sure to mention their name. Link the website you are using. Always mention when the lines are not yours and give the writer the due credit.

5. Make it engaging, interesting and highly attractive.

“The first thing you learn when you’re blogging is that people are one click away from leaving you. You’ve got to get to the point, you can’t waste people’s time, and you’ve got to give them some value for their limited attention span.”
~Alex Tabarrok

Make your content as interesting and engaging as possible. Insert colorful pictures that hold people’s attention. Try to reduce unnecessary information and stick to the point. Show what you’ve written to friends and ask them how you can make it more attractive and engaging. Ask questions to readers in the blog, try to capture and hold the reader’s attention through your writing.

Step 4: Spread the word.

Every big thing starts with a small step. Spread the word about your blog. Talk about it on your social media platforms. Send it to your friends. Send it to everybody you know. Ask for opinions and feedback. Try to adapt it in your next blog post. Don’t worry if your first post is not the best. There is always room for improvement. But the one thing is, never stop writing and never stop creating.

“The first step in blogging is not writing them but reading them.”

Jeff Jarvis

The most important thing while writing your blog is that you are happy with the content you have created. The next thing is to keep going, no matter what. Consistency will take you places. As the saying goes, try, try till you die. So what are you waiting for? Start writing today!
